Alaska Aging Advocacy Network Created
At the Alaska Commission Aging's upcoming Future of Aging in Alaska Advocacy Conference held June 27-28, 2006, the Commission began forming the Alaska Aging Advocacy Network. You are invited to sign up to participate in a pool of Alaskans to provide input on issues of importance to seniors, and to mobilize to support senior-related bills and projects as needed.
Members of the Alaska Aging Advocacy Network will be:
- Surveyed on a regular basis about their views, priorities and experiences
- Updated on pending legislation, regulations, budget proposals, and other matters of importance to seniors
- Asked for their ideas to help prepare position statements on priority issues
- Invited to contact their Congressional, legislative, and local representatives to advocate for or against matters impacting seniors
